A Case Study on Website Efficiency and User Satisfaction in the Academic Library

Abstract:

This paper presented the study on determining an empirical analysis of website efficiency and user satisfaction conducted in Curtin Sarawak Library. A determination of website efficiency is related to the efficiency of web podium, online service and the steadiness of availability of web pages to the Curtin University and community. Using a survey approach, questionnaires are distributed based on the ten percent of the total population of Curtin University Sarawak. The participants consist of three hundred respondents, derived from various categories and level, including the staffs, students, and members of Faculty of Engineering until Faculty of Business and Humanities, and the professional staff as well. Through the analysis, the study resulted of the facts that, there are few elements require in delivering the website content towards the library users, regardless of their status. Besides, in terms of user satisfaction outcome, the website efficiency for the case of Curtin Sarawak Library is also evaluated. As an overall, this study shows that, the website efficiency and user satisfaction are recommended as elements that contributes in ensuring either the library website should be maintained as it is, or improved at any areas suggested.
