A Student Centric ‘Lecture Notes App’ and Android Mobile Application Development in United Arab Emirates: The Case of Abu Dhabi

Abstract:

With mobile learning, users can meet a number of new requirements that facilitate effective teaching and learning experiences. Research in mobile learning focuses majorly on movement of the learners, learning that takes place outside classes and use of hand held devices. This research will seek to find out the extent of android mobile application development and use of student lecture notes applications in Arab Emirates. The study will center on studying the teaching and learning environment, identifying internal and external changes in application software development, and determining the implications of each mobile application, especially, the use of each application developed. Moreover, the research study will identify the benefits presented by mobile learning technology to learning institutions and how each can be used to enhance positive teaching and learning experiences. A quantitative approach will be used to guide the research. Accordingly, data collection will involve studying the environment of identified learning institutions, interaction with mobile learning and exam management technology, trends in mobile lecture notes applications and development, and new applications for serving immediate education needs.
