Team Management in Healthcare – Case Study in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

The efficiency and success of a company depend on many factors. Human resources, technical equipment, finances, and information belong to those factors. The interconnection of those factors lead to the success. Human resources are one of the extremely important factors determining a success of an enterprise. A modern management does not see any more their staff or employees as manpower, but they see them as a unique source of value, potential, and success (Bláha, 2005). The aim of this paper is to describe the specific aspects of managing people in the medical field, and propose a work responsibilities (within a case study) of persons in selected positions in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ostrava in the Czech Republic. The main methods include the use of a literature review and expert interview. The material for the case study was taken from semi-structured interviews with experts in the healthcare in the Faculty of Medicine, Ostrava University in the Czech Republic. The collected data was used to specify work responsibilities for chosen position in healthcare management.
