An Algorithmic Concept for Optimising the Number of Handling Operations in an Intermodal Terminal Node

Abstract:

This article presents the concept of using algorithms in the optimisation of the number of cargo handling operations for lifting equipment in a railroad intermodal node. The algorithms developed have been implemented into an integrated IT system in support of the management of warehouse processes.
