Case Study: Using ERP Systems for Training in Universities

Abstract:

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems mean an effective solution to business, especially in large and middle sized organizations. ERP systems flexible react tofundamental business processes and significantly support business performance. Yet, a few business oriented curricula cover this fact, nor the students have less knowledge about ERP systems and their impact to business sphere.This paper describes ERP systems and their using into the university curriculum. A case study example is provided showing how to prepare students for the business world giving them competitive advantage, i.e. to guide them through the ERP systems world.The author starts with introducing basic concept, aim and benefits of ERP systems and further provides information about the importance of implementation ERP knowledge into the university programs with a design of specific example.Subsequently, the scope and possibilities of such teaching/training module is outlined. On the basis of described and analyzed information a discussion dealing with expected impact is opened.
