Abstract:

The ability to communicate effectively is a value and an asset that often determines success in life. Knowledge of the processes of interpersonal communication is essential to elucidate the mechanisms and processes  shaping human social behaviour. Communication is a necessity. The article indicates the role of communicative and linguistic competences in establishing and maintaining social contacts as well as building and maintaining relationships.
