Financial Wealth and Net-Worth During Covid-19 Pandemic. Case Study: Romania

Abstract:

The aim for the current research is to assess the impact of the corona-virus outbreak on to economic objectives and personal finances for consumers in Romania. This paper also examines the response capacity of Romanians in the current sanitary crisis compared to the economic recession of 2007-2008. The key findings of this study consist in the fact that the Romanians’ ability to cope with severe financial shocks has improved considerably compared to the situation regarding the previous financial crisis. Additionally, this paper develops investigations in the field of the net wealth of the Romanian population, as well as on consumer preferences regarding various types of assets and financial instruments. This contribution provides an insight of the Romanian consumers regarding the way of dealing with the financial wealth and stability after the pandemics.
