Abstract:
In this paper, the authors examine network activities of tier 2supplier from the viewpoint of corporate management. In particular, the authors pay attention to a typical case of Sankyo Plastic
Kogyo Co. Ltd. (SPK), a tier 2 supplier of the auto-maker of Mazda. SPK is located in the north-west part of Hiroshima and the problems of SPK could be considered as common issues of all tier 2 suppliers because it is a typical company in the network of Mazda. The environment surrounded with SPK has taken place greatly because the acquisition policy of Mazda has been changed greatly. The authors discuss the successful factors of supplier network, and plan to provide theoretical foundations of quantitative analysis. The authors found that a new viewpoint of supplier network is much useful rather than vertical network to understand the new trend of network structure of parts-suppliers.
