A Comparative Study of Information Technology Adoption in Developing Countries: Does Culture Matter?

Abstract:

In spite of Information Technology' growing role in the today’s life, cross-cultural research about driven and barriers of technology adoption in the host culture is still very limited. Drawing upon the cultural dimensions’ theory, the purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of cultural beliefs and values on Information Technology adoption. Based on a survey of Top level management in India and Iran, the study revealed that the culture has significant influence on the degree of adoption of technology by managers.
