Abstract:
Research Motivation: This paper tackles the urgent need to measure Readiness for Change (RfC) effectively in dynamic business settings. Current frameworks are often fragmented and overly theoretical, failing to integrate crucial constructs or provide practical managerial guidance. This research seeks to bridge this gap by proposing a comprehensive, business-centric conceptual framework for assessing and enhancing RfC.
Methodology: Building upon prior research publications, this paper synthesizes insights from existing change management literature. It conceptually integrates organizational factors such as leadership support, organizational culture, and resource availability with individual-level elements including employee commitment, adaptability, and motivation into a unified RfC assessment model.
Findings: The proposed conceptual framework effectively addresses previously identified shortcomings in existing RfC models, particularly their neglect of digital transformation readiness and psychological factors. This integrated approach not only aligns with established theoretical insights from change management literature but also significantly enhances practical applicability for managerial purposes.
Originality: This research offers originality through its holistic conceptual integration of both organizational and individual-level factors influencing RfC. By explicitly addressing critical contemporary factors such as digital readiness and psychological elements, the framework extends beyond existing theoretical boundaries.
Research Limitations/Implications: The primary limitation of this study is its conceptual nature, necessitating subsequent empirical validation. Future research should empirically test the framework across various organizational contexts to confirm its robustness and generalizability.
Practical Implications: The proposed framework provides actionable guidance for managers and practitioners aiming to cultivate RfC within their organizations. It equips them with a structured tool to effectively diagnose readiness levels, plan targeted interventions, and enhance organizational adaptability for successful change management initiatives.
