Abstract:

Today, due to technological progress, lots of information is produced. The information should be managed for better knowledge creation. Classification of information helps us store, retrieve, process and manage information better.  The aim of this study is to provide a conceptual model for classification of information. For this purpose, we used four features to classify information. The volume of information, diversity of information, accuracy of information and the importance of information are 4 chosen features. The model provides at least 16 classes for information. For each class we recommended some strategies for better information management. In each class we discussed processing with machine or human being.
