Abstract:
In their inquiry, the authors start from the fact that the development of entrepreneurial thinking is becoming a priority within public policies all over the world. It constitutes an engine of all communities. Recent studies show that 7 out of 10 teenagers think of starting their own business. As a result, also in Romania run entrepreneurial education programmes by means of which young people are stimulated to develop professional and entrepreneurial competences. These programmes have as a global outcome the economic development of Romania. It is shown that related to Entrepreneurship Europe 2020, the programmes run in three directions: education, models and good practices, building a friendly business environment. The authors show that entrepreneurs are creators of jobs and prosperity. In order to substantiate the arguments, data of Eurostat and the National Institute of Statistics is used. At the end of the paper it is stated that the real barrier in entrepreneurship is not of fiscal, bureaucratic or legislative order, but of educational one.
