A Gamification Model to Motivate Lecturers towards a Satisfied Job Performance

Abstract:

This paper will present the concept application of gamification in a mobile tool to support and engage the academicians job task. Gamification is a concept of using a game mechanic and to incorporate into a non-game context such as education, marketing and business environment. The purpose of gamification is to engage the users in a game-like experience and eventually to improve the user’s performance. Besides the gamification concept, this study also includes the exploration of the lecturer key performance index (KPI) as the context into designing the gamification model. The study will involve five to eight lecturers at selected university in Malaysia. Through this study, it is believed that the gamification tool could assist lecturers to motivate the lecturer to achieve a satisfied job performance in the future.
