Abstract:
In this work we intend to present a model of mobile application for public transport optimization. The model we suggest addresses to the public transport system of a Romanian city and we began our action with the identification of the specific problems this system confronts with. We drafted and implemented a series of algorithms and functionalities for a mobile application destined to answer to the passenger needs, in order to optimize the specific operations. The application model uses a relatively simple and inexpensive architecture, which covers processes from finding the optimal path to the acquisition of electronic tickets in the mobile environment using the Android platform.
