Optimizing Statistical Databases Based on Transactional Database Systems

Abstract:

This paper represents a step in the development of statistical databases by presenting a new approach to statistical databases based on an extension of the transactional database system model. This approach is valuable because transactional database systems are successfully used in many industries and areas of human life. Their advantages are: universality of use, reliability of operation, universal knowledge among programmers, and available tools for efficient work. Looking from the statistical database perspective, the deficit of transactional database systems is the lack of mechanisms to protect a statistical database. The lack of implementation of models and methods related to statistical database protection in transactional database systems is a challenge that requires further work and reflection. This paper is an introduction to such work. It shows the original generalized framework of a statistical database system model based on a transactional database system. Potential advantages and disadvantages of using this type of solution are discussed. All of the reflections presented are of a signal nature and may provide inspiration for further work of this type.
