Abstract:
The increasing integration trend supported by explicit strategies used by the EU in order to achieve a gradual cultural homogenization has led to the creation of a set of common basic values that individuals share both in their private life and at their workplace. In a Europe based on knowledge and democratic social-political values the moral obligations accepted by individuals are to a greater extent influenced by institutions, business organizations, legal norms and work is gradually becoming a cultural value close to pleasure. On this background we witness a tendency of European citizens towards global self achievement: a successful career becomes a value in itself and a factor of self motivation. The present paper deals with one of the emerging professional positions that top European professionals can occupy, that of manager at European level, or euromanager, trying to grasp its specificities and challenging aspects.
