A New Model of Development: Between Empowerment of The Community And Gender Equality Policies

Abstract:

This paper aims to represent a contribution to the actual debates concerning the need to support the economic growth in Romania, reforming process that complied with requirements in view to reduce the social inequities generated by sex and age in producing and accessing welfare. In this context, the imagined economic development model exceeds the traditional framework of the approaches for the concepts and definitions of economic growth only from the point of view of the market, wages and heads of family; it  taking also into account the differences of gender assumes changes of traditional methodologies, able to develop new perspectives on welfare. This research tried to answer to a very actual question, namely: How  prepared is the Romanian society to adopted this model?  The answer of this question involves directing the research  along two perspective: (1) on the new concept of development and (2) on public policies designing under the larger framework the European requirements of equal opportunity for men and women provide for. Pragmatically, the achievement of such a structural model  implies overcoming a variety of challenges. On the one hand, are the members of the community aware of the importance of their commitment? Are they truly motivated to take part in such a structure? On the other hand, how prepared are political representatives and public authorities to accept co-operation with different categories of ? This research will try to find the answers for all these questions.
