Abstract:

The paper focuses on triangular fuzzy numbers as useful representations of uncertainty in projects. A novel graphical representation of triangular fuzzy numbers, more adapted to the need of project managers, is proposed. Triangular fuzzy numbers are represented as vectors, whose length and slope represent, respectively, the range of possible scenarios and the most possible scenarios. Mathematical foundations of the proposal are given (arithmetical operations included). The proposal is illustrated with an example.
