Abstract:
With a variety of online services in today’s digital ecosystem, customers need to possess digital identities for their identification and authentication to access shared assets and resources. To maintain the management of these identities, several solutions have been introduced with different policies and technologies. However, identity assurance and the ability to trust users who want access resources were seen as big challenges in the digital world. For this raison, Identity Federation solution has been conceived to foster the trusted interactions among members of a Federation, to work securely with multiple parties in an ecosystem. Nevertheless, the reliability and the scalability of the current approach of trust management of Identity Federation systems still need to be improved. After an in-deep reflection on this issue, we present in this paper a novel model of managing Identity Federation trust, to maintaining a consistently replicated Metadata management platform through Blockchain technology without losing the significant advantages of traditional Federations.
