Abstract:

Information Technology adoption and implementation has become one of the key factors in improving small and medium sized businesses competitiveness. Chinese SMEs lag behind large firms in adoption of the new technology. As SMEs play an important role in Chinese economy today, it is necessary for Chinese SMEs CEOs to understand the adoption of Information Technology is a strategic resource of any enterprises. This paper addresses the necessities of SMEs Information Technology adoption and implementation. It also studied the current situation of Chinese SMEs and the condition change will affect the whole countries’ economy development. The importance of making good use of external resources should be emphasized in SMEs’ information technology adoption and implementation. Establish Chinese SMEs IT network and set up co-operation in different companies will be another effective method to solve resources problems. Government should formulate different regulations and incentive plans to support SMEs information technology development.
