A Research Note on the Use of the Internet by Small Tourism Enterprises in East Malaysia

Abstract:

This research note reports on the findings of field research conducted in East Malaysia. Given the
well-recognized value of the Internet in tourism the authors sought to identify how small tourism operators in developing countries are using the Internet for marketing purposes. It was found that
the main use of the Internet was as a communication and information publishing medium. This paper improves knowledge on how small tourism enterprises use the Internet in the context of developing countries.
