Abstract:
The turn of 2019/2020 is enshrined in human history with the notion of a pandemic caused by COVID-19. The emerging situation has caused a change of priorities in the world economy, the sense of security on a global scale as well as the shape of different human relationships, it also caused a change of the sense of security on a global scale and the shape of different human relationships. The new, unknown phenomenon forced the reaction of decision-makers responsible for various spheres of human activity and existence. This article aims to analyse preventive actions related to the danger of direct contact with a new threat – COVID-19, on the basis of opinions of officers working in provincial police headquarters.
The paper uses theoretical research methods, i.e. analysis of the literature on the subject, current data published by international and national organisations. The empirical part was based on a survey conducted through an online questionnaire technique. The first survey was conducted in the period from 1 April 2020 to 29 May 2020, among 565 employees and officers of the Regional Police Headquarters, using an original survey questionnaire. The survey was repeated in the period from 15 January 2021 to 29 March 2021; it was attended by 783 respondents.
It was assumed that the sense of security of officers in direct contact with the public in an epidemiological emergency affects the quality of their official duties. This assumption was verified as a result of the elapsed time.
