Abstract:

The aim of the present study was to analyse and evaluate the concentration of income and population potential of communes (municipalities) in the Opolskie Voivodeship in the years 2000-2018. The study involved the application of the physical potential theory in a spatial study of territorial units on the commune level. Statistical spatial analysis tools used in the present work included the spatial autocorrelation coefficient and the related Global Moran’s index as well as Local Indicators of Spatial Association (LISA). The analysis of the concentration of potential enabled the assessment of financial self-sufficiency of the communes of the Opolskie Voivodeship.
