A Study of the Impact of Corporate Governance of the Upper Echelon to the Value of the Firm – A Focus to the Gender of the Board and Supervisory Board

Abstract:

This paper highlights the results of research in the subject area sustainability as part of the doctoral thesis. The focus of the paper is the aspect of “Social” in specific field of Genderism of the Board and the Member of the Supervisory Board. In the study we analyzed the DAX30 companies of Germany in the timeline 2006 to 2004. We found out that there are measurable criterias and an effect of the gender to the value of the firm. In first result, We can prove the correlation of women in Upper Echelon to the value of the firm .We found a positive effect. In a second research we found out, that there is a given gap between men and women what we called the “Gender Gap” .This Gap becomes smaller but is quite huge.
