Abstract:
IT projects are becoming more and more complex and the community is always looking for new methods to improve the design and development process in order to create successful projects. In order to better design and manage the development of complex software systems, software designers have turned increasingly to modeling languages such as the Unified Modeling Language. Despite widespread interest in UML, there is little quantitative evidence on the level and nature of UML use. In this article we will present a part of the results of a study conducted in 2013 on Romanian IT projects. These results will be focused mostly on the usage of UML in general in Romanian IT projects, on the types of diagrams and the modeling tools used.
