A Supply Chain Position Based Analysis of the Strategy-Performance Linkage in Organizations

Abstract:

An analysis is provided regarding how specific Supply Chain Management (SCM) strategies improve organization performance. Further, this study highlights how the specific SCM strategies that affect performance changes when moderated by the supply chain role of a company. An empirical survey is used for the analysis. Clear distinctions in the effect of the supply chain role shows that this factor is important for managers to note when deciding on the specific SCM strategy to adopt for their companies. The study also extends past research in the area by expanding on the supply chain role beyond the traditional dyadic treatment of the role as either a supplier or a distributor.
