A Systematic Literature Review on Management of Public Transport in Real Time using a Geolocation System

Abstract:

Today, real-time monitoring of public transport is crucial as it significantly influences traffic, and if the transit of vehicles is not managed efficiently, it could result in a congestion of vehicles in transit routes (traffic). Most companies find implementing technologies such as a global positioning system (GPS), cameras, sensors, and Internet expensive. This paper focuses on an exhaustive review of 69 articles, extracted from various recognized academic sources and published in 2016–2020, that have explored different ways to improve transport management using technology. This study presents the different ways of using geolocation, utilization of improved tools, and transport management. Therefore, the results can help in attaining an enhanced understanding of public transport management.
