Abstract:
Despite the numerous papers that have been written about the participatory budgeting process, it still remains an important topic. Studies conducted over the years link participatory budgets to employee motivation, to improved performances, job satisfaction, to the perception of budget fairness, the commitment to achieve goals, and so on. The significance of this subject is given by the very importance of participatory budgets for the efficient management of economic entities. This paper provides a synthesis of studies written on the participatory budgeting process, aiming to highlight the benefits of using participatory budgets and to identify the elements that are important for implementing an efficient participatory budgeting system in economic entities.
