“Accelerating Composite Event Processing with Dynamic Subscription,”

Abstract:

The goal of complex event processing is, in the distributed environment, to enable the system to communicate, coordinate, analysis the events that may be related to one another with time or context. This paper focuses on improving the effectiveness of the original architecture by adding the active mechanism into the system. The benefit of this mechanism includes: reducing unnecessary data processing and the saving of computing resources and network bandwidth. The second section of the paper introduces the researches and articles including: the concept of context-awareness, the similarities and differences  between the event-driven architecture and the service oriented architecture and the on-going architecture and the mechanism of the CEP. The third section proposes the new architecture of the CEP with the active subscribe / unsubscribe mechanism. This section includes the motive of the active mechanism, the system architecture, the procedures and system flows and the newly added components. The fourth section is the scenario of identifying
suspect cases of SARS patients. The benefit of the new architecture is illustrated and discussed. The final section is the conclusion and some future improvements of the system.
