Abstract:
The way of living and economic condition has affected many organization activities today to handle retention of Generation Y employees. Hence, organizations need to find the best way in order to retain their Generation Y employees. The purpose of this study is to identify the factors that retain Generation Y employees. This paper explores the relationship between recognition, relationship with co-workers and tech-savvy with employee retention. Quantitative approach with self-administered questionnaire method has been used for data collection in this study. The model used in this study was designed based on the literature that linking factors to employees retention. There are four hypotheses were built based on the model and literature. Based on the previous literature, factors such as recognition, relationship with co-worker and tech-savvy have a positive effect on employee retention. This study revealed that Generation Y showing some different factors in their retention. It is recommended that organizations should consider other factors that will be more influence intention to stay among Generation Y.
