Abstract:

Nowadays, Cloud computing is a major trend in the IT market, changing the way businesses acquire, use and pay for IT solutions to support their operations. Today, companies across the energy sector are increasingly adopting cloud computing solutions (which mainly include IT infrastructure, software platforms and specialized types of software with related services). This article presents the status of cloud computing adoption among Polish energy companies compared to the EU. Currently, the level of cloud computing adoption among energy companies in Poland is higher compared to the EU. This article concludes with a presentation of the levels of cloud computing adoption in energy companies, along with examples of their actual implementation. Cloud computing solutions in energy companies are mostly located at the basic, standard or specialized level.
