Abstract:
One of the most important factors when measuring the degree of assurance of the food security of a population is the physical access to food, physical access which is translated by the size and state of all the roads and rail lines in the area. The purpose of this paper is to conduct an analysis of the evolution of the areas occupied by roads in Romania of the total area of the country and their density and density of railways in this country. In this purpose, we used a number of indicators such as road density, railways density and the method of analysis was based on quantitative analysis and the correlation method. The results led us to conclude that the areas occupied by roads had a gradual evolution of growth, while areas occupied by railways have experienced a continuous decline, getting to a stagnating point in the Macro region 3 since 2007.
