Abstract:
The article attempts to make an in-depth analysis of the level of application and use of telematics systems based on GPS/GSM/GPRS technology in Polish road transport companies, which support transport in the implementation of goods deliveries in integrated supply chains. The article is based on a survey conducted in 2019 based on a group of 500 Polish road transport companies. The presented results clearly show a relatively low level of the use of telematics systems in management by Polish road transport companies, with a simultaneous significant level of awareness of managers as to the need to use them in the context of contractors' requirements. Based on the results of the survey, it was shown that the application of these solutions, despite the observed barriers, leads to companies obtaining significant added value in the quality of services provided. The SEM structural equation model was used to assess the impact of customer requirements and barriers to the application of solutions, as well as to assess the value added.
