Agile Enterprise Architecture – A Literature Review

Abstract:

Agile methods are considered the recent evolutionary methods, and there is an increasing interest in adopting such agile practices in all business fields and in all aspects of organisations. Enterprise Architectures (EA) are not an exception. Despite the interest of organisations in Agile EA, there is a widespread perception that this topic has not received much attention from academic researchers. This paper aims to present the results of a systematic literature review that attempted to quantify the existing literature on Agile EA and answer two research questions: what is the understanding of the concept of Agile EA, and what frameworks, methods and models are proposed for Agile EA. The results confirm that much work remains to be done and validated.
