Abstract:
The purpose of this article is to discuss the concept of alternative culture of the 20th century in the Czech Republic. This alternative culture is described as a phenomenon ideally connected to the underground movement before 1989, i.e., before the fall of Communism, the so-called Velvet Revolution of 1989. In addition, the authors list the key values, symbols and benefits of alternative culture, which is forms a contrast to the so-called popular culture.
