Abstract:
It is essential to analyze and discuss the efficiency of the technologies used in Supply Chain Management (SCM), a key decision factor in implementing a specific technology. Digital transformation and the adoption of recent technological advances have become a must for all SCM processes that significantly improve their activities. Consequently, this transformation inevitably affects the traditional way of working for different areas of SCM, resulting in voluminous and rapidly growing sets of large-scale data generated from heterogeneous data sources. With new IT infrastructures and advanced methodologies, these enormous amounts of data can be efficiently collected to optimize the SCM processes leading to operational efficiency. The scope of the research paper is to analyze the operational efficiency of the technologies in SCM. This paper also defines the effects of technologies on the efficiency of SCM, provides a review of the technologies in improving the operational efficiency of SCM, exposes the main operational efficiency characteristics of technologies, and identifies some future research challenges.
