Abstract:

 Internet has become more and more important not only in education field but also in business and economics filed as well as military development. The exercise of web site among the companies have increasing rapidly in the recent year, result from the globalization era. As a result, internet WWW has become more and more important in business sector regardless service or manufacture industries. Web site has become an instrument or Information Communication Technology (ICT) to link the world under one roof, and adoption of the web site has also reveal as a competitive advantage of the company.  Start from the developing work to the new generation of internet, it is undeniable that still lots of the users perceived that the threat still exists and became a barrier from them to adopt this new technology. Factor influence the perception of users, especially those who doing their transaction online, is security problems. Companies are not dare to put their company online, are also review to the same answer. Virtual thefts are the most concern of SMIs companies in our local market, and other factor might also prevent SMIs to enjoy the benefits that yield from the internet WWW.  A questionnaire survey based on the awareness of barrier and benefits towards the web site adoption in local SMIs has been conducted. Factor affecting the web site adoption are also collected. Primary data collected are analyzed via the Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) software.  After analyzing, few factor that affecting the web site adoption in local SMIs are acquired. This is the most interesting part of the study, since that the results yield are met the research objectives and give the more understanding and clear picture to the SMIs companies. So the few sectors that influence might attract the concern from the companies in adopting web site. And the end of the study, few recommendations are rise in order for the SMIs companies to concern more.
