Abstract:
Introducing the GIS market is promising in most countries; is it the fact in Egypt? Does the decision of unbanning Global Positioning System in Egypt affect that? How the GIS industry response to that? And what is the Role of National Survey Authority in the GIS Industry as “National Authority”?
This paper aims to investigate the growth of GIS market in developing countries especially Egypt and how the governmental decision and cultural issues impose barriers for that. The paper conducted four case studies on key GIS player in the private sector and a case study about “the National Survey Authority” Egypt and Middle East.
