An Evaluation of Users’ Satisfaction Level with the Quality of the Office Facilities in some Selected Private Universities in Ogun State, Nigeria

Abstract:

The study was undertaken to assess the extent of users’ satisfaction in two selected privately-owned Universities in Ogun State, South-Western Nigeria with the quality of office facilities provided them in term of their level of adequacy or otherwise. The study adopted Covenant University and the Bells University of Technology both of which are located in Ota. In order to achieve the aim of the study, structured questionnaires were administered on both academic and non-academic staffs of both Universities to extract from them their opinions regarding their various offices. The questionnaires so retrieved were analysed with the aid of descriptive and inferential statistical methods.  The result of the analyses showed that the office facilities in the Universities to be relatively adequate for the staff when compared with that of the Bells University as majority of the office facilities in Covenant University such as the lightings, information and communication systems, air conditioning, and furniture are found to be more adequate than most of the ones in the Bells University of Technology. The study that for private universities in Nigeria to be able to compete with the world-class Universities the world over, there has to be improvement in their level of maintenance culture.
