An Experimental Study of the Overall Quality Factors and UAE SMEs Performance

Abstract:

The relative use of information technology or information systems is an essential aspect for the survival and growth of every firm in today’s businesses environment. However, there is a limited studies that examined the role of the information quality factors from DeLone and McLean model. Therefore, the study investigated the role of the overall quality factors on SMEs performance directly and indirectly using perceived satisfaction, perceived intention to use and organizational culture as the mediating variables. In this quantitative research design, a structured questionnaire with a 5-point Likert scale was used as the instrument for data collection from the total of 420 respondents from SMEs service sector in the UAE. The validity and reliability of the measurement and structural models were ascertained. The Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was used to test the hypotheses. The results of this research revealed that the overall quality factors had a positive and significant effect on SMEs performance. Also, the results also perceived satisfaction positively and significantly influence SMEs performance. Similarly, organizational culture had a positive and significant and positive effect on SMEs performance. The mediating results of the perceived satisfaction, perceived intention to use and organizational culture on the relationship between overall quality factors and SMEs performance. Only organizational culture mediates the relationship between overall quality and SMEs performance. This research will add a value in the academic research field as there is a lack of studies in the field of SMEs performance using mediating indicators such as perceived satisfaction perceived intention to use and organizational culture from in the UAE context. Also, the findings of the study will be beneficial to practitioners, owners of SMEs as well as to the social media marketing literature in general.
