An Exploratory Survey on Perceived Privacy and Cybersecurity Challenges Faced by Professionals when Working from Home during COVID-19 Pandemic and Best Practices for Effective Risk Mitigation

Abstract:

According to PwC’S COVID-19 CFO Pulse survey [3], 41% of the finance leaders surveyed in North America said that they struggle to strike the right balance between flexibility and security for remote work. With major portion of the workforce in every country working from Home, employers might not have accounted for this scale of load on their IT infrastructure, not to mention their cybersecurity preparedness. Cybercriminals have been working to exploit this unpreparedness of the employers with regards to their IT Infrastructure. The purpose of this study is to discuss the increased Privacy and Cybersecurity risks of work from home due to Covid-19, and includes a framework that has concise and simple but extremely effective steps to mitigate and prevent these cyber-attacks.
