Abstract:

Business Intelligence (BI) systems play an important role in providing actionable information to the managers and business analysts of an organization to make informed decision for their business. With a BI system, they are able to extract multiple dimensions of data from the data warehouse based on different business requirements. However, data extracted from the data warehouse is not really able to help them to make decision easily for their organizations. This is because they do not have a clear picture about how the information is being constructed and may not fully understand the real meaning of the data. As a result, this research aims to design and develop an integrated information manufacturing framework for BI systems named Business Intelligence Product Map (BIP-Map). The appropriate modeling and management techniques from Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN), Information Product Map (IP-Map) and Metadata Management will be combined and modified in order to construct a framework that is able to help managers and business analysts in making the best and right decisions for their organizations.
