Abstract:
The fact that online sales are growing exponentially, makes the e-commerce community anticipate the use of digital coins that simulate ordinary currency to replace the use of credit cards and debit cards. Plastic cards (either debit or credit) are prone to identify thefts and fraudulent uses. Since digital coins, proposed in 1988, different e-payment schemes based on digital coins are explored; more than 32 million dollars have been transferred using digital coins [1]. But none of these schemes satisfy the e-commerce community in becoming the main e-payment model for e-commerce. In this paper we introduce a new multi-agent based digital coin scheme. In our model we implement the digital coin as an intelligent mobile agent, and our agent oriented features can address the challenges of current digital coins schemes.
