Abstract:

Until recently, each department in a company had its own specialized application that it used to carry out its activity, which raised many problems and was an inefficient way of working. ERP programs aim to solve this problem so that a modern ERP allows all departments in the company, whether it is salesorders, marketing, distribution, service, supply, procurement, production, accounting, management, invoicing, human resources / salary etc. to work in a single application, which brings many benefits. Through this research, the authors aim to present the evolution of ERP systems. A study is conducted in order to establish the main functionalities and components of modern ERP systems. There is proposed a set of instructions in order to identify the suitable ERP system for each organization that is considering implementing one.
