Abstract:

This paper examines comparative advantage share of ICT export and its development across OECD countries between 1996 and 2004. We determine the ICT export intensity and the share of ICT export of each country in total export of OECD and calculate Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) using OECD export of ICT goods data. The results suggest that despite of significant changes in ICT export of OECD countries during the 1990- 2004, the pattern of revealed comparative advantage has remained almost stable for some special countries. We forecast the Balassa indexes for export of ICT goods in OECD countries and evaluate these
forecasting.
