Analysis of Cloud Computing in the Romanian Banking System for the Strategy Development following the Economic and Financial Crisis

Abstract:

The evolution of information technology, relative to the Web, database and servers, resulted in shaping the Cloud Computing technology. This technology is used in institutions and organizations in various activity fields. In the banking system the most widely used e-banking service is Internet banking. Using Internet banking as a cloud service is not new to the banking system in Romania. Cloud Computing technology offers three types of services: SaaS, PaaS and IaaS. Internet banking is SaaS for bank customers that perform different operations: making payments, viewing information, setting up deposits and other operations. This paper presents the current state of Cloud Computing technology use in Romania and the technology contribution in the development of recovery strategies following the economic crisis. The current state of using this technology is made based on performance analysis and the number of concurrent users. The end of the paper presents the conceptual framework for benefits affecting cloud computing adopting in e-banking which contributes to the development of the banking strategy and are there are shown the advantages of using new technologies and their contribution to the development strategies of the banking system.
