Abstract:
With the spread of the assumptions of public-private partnership (PPP), many benefits related to the implementation of investments in this formula began to be noticed. The financial aspect is often mentioned as it has been proven that the costs incurred in public-private projects are lower compared to publicly funded projects and that the different types of risks can be shared. Although there is a noticeable increase in interest in PPP, this formula encounters a number of barriers hampering cooperation between sectors. In Poland, despite the continuous increase in the number of projects in the PPP formula, the implemented projects account for only a small percentage of total investment expenditure. Identification, analysis and elimination of some barriers is particularly important in the perspective of further development of the PPP market. Pilot studies have identified some of the barriers to the development of PPP and are also an introduction to further analyzes in this area.
