Abstract:
People always look for different ways to effectively manage their time according to their wants, needs and responsibilities. One way, which enables them to have more time for their personal life is having flexible work arrangements. One of the form is part-time employment. The purpose of this paper was to research and analyze the reasons behind the decision of why people work part-time in Europe. The data for this paper were obtained from Eurostat and OECD. The results were set into tables, where were listed European countries based on their values descendingly. Moreover, there was used Pearson's Correlation Coefficient, which helps the reader to determine the rate of dependence between the part-time rate and the reasons why people work part-time in Europe. In the conclusion are summarized the key findings as well as future prediction of demands for part-time employment.
