Abstract:
Within this article, we conducted a study on the analysis of the correlation between competition and the savings obtained in automobile public procurement in Romania. The competitive environment in public procurement was also analysed by other authors, who found that there was an inversely proportional relationship between the number of competitors (tenders received) and the final price. It has also been found that the drop in the tendered price stops along with the receipt of a certain number of tenders. The study aims to confirm / refute the two conclusions and to determine the number of tenders after which the price no longer drops, in the case of a sample of 132 procurement procedures carried out in Romania between 17.02.2015 - 22.12.2018, concerning the supply of motor vehicles.
