Abstract:

The paper aims to analyse and explain the volume of funds attracted by farmers through the National Rural Development Program 2007-2013, Measure 112 - "Setting up of young farmers" at county level in Romania. Various factors, both socio-economic and agricultural, which may be related to the dependent variable or the amount of support accessed by young farmers, have been taken into account. The statistical data obtained from the national bases were used in the study, being structured at the county level and analysed using the multiple regression model. Identifying factors that can contribute to increasing the volume of European funds absorbed at national level is a necessity to facilitate the implementation of measures for the young farmers who wish to start an agricultural activity and to support the improvement of agricultural policies, all contributing to the economic development of rural areas.
